What We Offer

Everything in One Place

01

Taekwondo Training

Our Taekwondo classes are provided free of charge to students in our before- and after-school USTC Child Care Program as part of our nonprofit mission. Belt-level classes every weekday from *5:30 PM - 6:30 PM* teach students discipline, focus, and physical fitness through traditional martial arts practices, helping children build confidence, respect, and healthy routines.

02

Before & After School

Our Child Care Program provides a safe, structured, and supportive environment where students can stay active, complete their homework, and participate in our martial arts classes. Our dedicated staff work closely with each student to provide individualized attention and guidance, ensuring that every child feels supported in their development. Through our program, we encourage students to grow both physically and mentally while building discipline, confidence, and strong character.

03

Sports & Activities

Students stay active and engaged each day through a variety of recreational and creative activities, including basketball, soccer, football, volleyball, arts/crafts and more. Our facility features a full basketball court as well as a spacious, fully matted activity area designed to support safe, movement-based play. This versatile space allows students to participate in organized sports, group games such as soccer and volleyball, and a wide range of structured activities that promote teamwork, physical fitness, and social development.

04

Academic Support

Homework assistance and academic support are integrated into our daily routine, allowing students dedicated time to complete assignments in a focused and structured environment. Our staff actively monitor progress, provide guidance when needed, and help students stay organized and on track with their schoolwork. We emphasize positive behavior, responsibility, and strong study habits so that students carry these skills with them both at school and at home. Through our strong relationships and ongoing communication with the schools we serve, we are able to provide consistent, well-rounded support that reinforces each student’s academic and personal development.

05

CCAP Accepted

Our program proudly participates in Rhode Island’s Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP), helping families access high-quality child care and after-school services regardless of financial circumstances. CCAP provides eligible families with financial assistance to help cover the cost of child care while parents and guardians work, attend school, or participate in job training programs. At USTC, we are committed to making safe, structured, and enriching child care accessible to the families in our community. Through CCAP, qualifying families can enroll their children in our program while receiving support toward tuition costs. Our team works closely with families to ensure a smooth enrollment process and to help them understand their eligibility and benefits. By partnering with CCAP, we are able to extend our mission of providing dependable care, structured activities, academic support, and martial arts training to more children throughout the Providence community. Our goal is to ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive in a positive and supportive environment.

06

Summer Camp

Our busy weekly schedule features trips to local parks, pool days, visits to museums, and many other enriching outings that encourage physical activity, social interaction, and new experiences. All field trips and pool visits are fully organized and provided by our program, allowing families to enjoy a worry-free experience while their children participate in safe, supervised activities. During the summer program, meals are also provided to ensure students stay energized and ready to participate in the day’s activities. Our goal is to create a safe, memorable camp environment where children can stay active, build friendships, and continue learning while school is out.

Taekwondo

The Belt Journey

Five classes. Five levels. Every weekday, students train at their belt level — progressing from foundational discipline to black-belt readiness.

Monday

White Belt

Build strong fundamentals through basic stances, strikes, and Taekwondo etiquette. From day one, students are guided in developing discipline, focus, and confidence within a structured training environment. Through teamwork-based drills, voice training, and focused instruction, students learn to communicate with confidence, stay engaged, and support one another. Each class reinforces strong habits, attention to detail, and the discipline needed to progress both on and off the mat”

Tuesday

Yellow Belt

Introduce new forms and combinations that strengthen coordination and timing, with continued emphasis on focus, control, and consistency. With a foundational understanding of Taekwondo established, students are challenged to elevate their training. They begin learning proper blocking techniques, partner work, and are introduced to Traditional Form 1 (Poomsae). This level focuses on refining technique, improving precision, and developing stronger control in all movements.

Wednesday

Orange Belt

Students at this level begin refining their technique with greater precision and control, building on the fundamentals they have already developed. Emphasis is placed on improving coordination, timing, and consistency through more advanced combinations and drills. Students are expected to demonstrate stronger focus, self-discipline, and awareness in class, while continuing to build confidence in their abilities. At this stage, students are introduced to the back kick, an important technique that develops power, balance, and control. Mastering this kick plays a key role in strengthening their overall confidence in Taekwondo as they continue to progress.

Thursday

Green Belt

At the Green Belt level, students transition into more advanced training that challenges both their physical ability and mental focus. Training introduces the skipping front kick, helping students develop speed, timing, and coordination in their movements. Students also begin learning Traditional Form #2, further strengthening their understanding of patterns, sequencing, and discipline. At this stage, students are expected to take on a leadership role within the program, setting a positive example for lower belt levels through their attitude, effort, and discipline. As veterans of the program, they are encouraged to lead by example, demonstrate confidence, and support the growth of those around them as they continue progressing toward the higher ranks.

Friday

High Belt

Precision training, mental toughness, and higher-intensity practice define this level as students prepare for upper-rank testing and long-term black belt goals. At this stage, students refine advanced techniques, combinations, and forms with a focus on accuracy, speed, and control. Training becomes more physically and mentally demanding, pushing students to develop endurance, discipline, and resilience. High belt students are also expected to demonstrate leadership within the program, setting the example for lower belts, assisting in class structure, and carrying themselves with confidence and respect. Emphasis is placed on accountability, self-discipline, and a deeper understanding of Taekwondo principles, helping students grow not only as martial artists, but as leaders both on and off the mat.

Every child deserves a place where they feel safe, supported, and challenged to grow.

More Than Child Care

Our programs blend academics, athletics, and character development into a daily experience families count on. Through Taekwondo, team sports, and hands-on learning, students build the discipline, confidence, and community they need to succeed.
